The assignment was simple: create a genre of music and then imagine a band that plays this genre of music, then create a CD package for an imagined album that this band created. My concept was a steampunk rock band named Steaming Pile! and since the idea of a compact disc is blasphemy in the world of steampunk, I created a vinyl package out of two blocks of wood, some hinges and a variety of mixed media techniques.
